-  Food, drink, and gum are permitted as long as they do not become distractions.

-  If you skip conference period (that is, you are not with another teacher) you will receive detention.  If you do not make up missed work within a week, you will receive a zero for the day you missed.

Academic policies:

-  Assignments are due at the beginning of class.  If an assignment is not completed, or not printed, it is considered late.

-  If your work is not complete, you are expected to come to conference period that day.

-  Late work will be penalized 5 points if turned in during conference period and 10 points if handed in the next day.  Late work will continue to lose 10 points per day.

-   You are required to turn in your own work for all of your classes at the Academy.  Turning in someone else’s work with your name on it is plagiarism.  That means copying information from books, the Internet, or another person.  If you are caught plagiarizing or cheating on an assignment, a disciplinary referral will be written.  You will receive a zero on the assignment.  You will speak with either the Social Studies or English Department Chair and your parents will receive a letter describing what has happened. If you are caught plagiarizing or cheating again, you will be removed from the course and given an F.  This is a very serious issue: if you have questions about plagiarism or cheating, speak with us.

Absences:

-  If you miss class time, you are expected to come to conference period to make up the work you missed.  It is your responsibility to come in and meet with us.   Failure to make up missed class time in a timely manner will result in 0s for the days missed.
